2001-12-31 || 4:00 p.m. || new years planning gone awry. || this is the entry where i wrap up the year 2000 quite succinctly, with a sentence for each month. i am wearing a blouse i just bought and i cannot tell whether it is kewl or rather ugly. this entry is not going to make it as the entry where i wrap the year up quite succinctly. i haven't taken a shower yet. a terrible case of bedhead/overzealous hair wax application is hidden under my knit cap. i went with brookie to vallejo for disappointing thrifting and belly-achin fish and chips (good at the time, and oh that crazy vinegar.). i am now smoking nowhere near an open window. i am worried about tonite. my new years go-to fella hasn't called to tell me the plan. i am trying not to let this upset me. (i hate new years in the same way i hate halloween. they are my favorite holidays but they never ever ever live up to their potential. always last minute plans or bad moods waiting in the rafters to descend bat-like at inopportune times.) (2001 tick tock 2002.) (and i am trying to leave out the expectations.) (not very successfully, i am afraid.) 2001 went entirely too fast. i think this is an indication that i am getting old. see. this is putting me in a bad mood. december 31st is putting me in a bad mood. this striped blouse i wanted so much to be the magical new years blouse is putting me in a bad mood. (you should stop now. no one wants to hear this crabbing, jenny.) shut up. this is my page and i can write whatever i like. (it sounds like you need a nap. and when you wake up i will make you hot cocoa and you can take a bath and put on fake eyelashes and i'll tell you you're glamorous.) but what if tonight is bad. what if i am hiding out in various bathrooms wishing i had thrown caution to the wind to drive through sleet and snow to the best friendlies up north.
