Good morning,

RE: Recycling, Disposal of Confidential Information, etc.

This morning, with the recycling box under my desk overflowing, I decided to start the week off right by taking out my scrap paper and all the empty whiskey bottles. Nothing like having a clean desk (top and bottom) to start the week off right! That was my first mistake of the day.

When I flipped open the first "mixed paper" bin in the corridor outside of the building, Confidential reports were staring me in the face. . . A bit of "dumpster diving" revealed page after page of Confidential donation information.

I also found the "can and bottle" bin full of mixed paper and garbage. Much of the paper and garbage (pizza boxes and other "food soiled paper") originated at other commercial businesses in the building; however, some of the Confidential reports were also tossed in the can and bottle bin. . . As most of you know, we do almost everything in the Business Office; however, sorting through the garbage in not exactly in our job description. We must occasionally do this, however, because the recyclers will just leave containers on the curb if recycling materials aren't properly sorted.

(PS: Whoever threw out all of those old, racy love letters can claim them in the Business Office. Bring money! BOS is NOT a non-profit organization.)

Thanks for your cooperation.
