1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
i threw a baby shower. i sang in front of a hundred people with owen a couple times. i almost went the entire year without seeing michael bland. i sold art.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i know i resolved to hang out with sara more, and indeed i did. i realized it is much easier to stick to the fun resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
my favorite work lady had a 10-lb girl on friday. being around a pregnant lady on a daily basis gave me the most intense pregnancy dreams. i'm going to have 2,655 babies in '05.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
my uncle nick.

5. What countries did you visit?
mexico,

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
a baby daddy for my 2,655 children.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
i loved the seattle vacation with brian and karen and joe and owen. jeff and thea got married.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
starting school again.

9. What was your biggest failure?
ending my ailing writing regimen. staying at this job.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
i was so healthy it hurt sometimes.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
i didn't buy it, but h bought me the most beautiful ship-related bergermeister light box ad thing. i love it so.

my brian is an effing saint.

the red states.

14. Where did most of your money go?
rent.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
hash moving out here. hash moving away. kelly moving here. vacation with my family. my most awesome classes.

b) thinner or fatter? the same i think.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
working on my writerly pursuits. traveling/visiting kell in her exotic locales (i.e. montana, the desert.). talking to strangers. saving money.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
acting all shy. procrastinating on projects.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
in the oc with my parents and sister. we will open presents and lie around and watch lord of the rings over and over and eat quite a bit.

21. How will you be spending New Years?
edward formalhands? come over to my house in formalwear, two bottles of champagne, and duct tape and we'll talk.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
no love.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
arrested development. GHOST HUNTERS.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
man, i don't hate anybody.

this was the year of graham greene, i think.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
the unicorns! joanna newsom.

28. What did you want and get?
inner peace.

the love of my life to finally make himself known and come over for hot cocoa and a nice game of tiddlywinks.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
i turned 28. two days before my birthday i had an sf party at a bar. the day before my birthday chris had a big party in the oc and i got to sing with o. the day of my birthday i drove to my parents' house and my dad made me an omelette and i had a mental breakdown at chris's house while watching the office with o. overall, i give it a 7.9.

my amazingly wonderful friends and family. my domestic partner brian.

my sister, michael, owen, hashem,

38. Who was the best new person you met?
probably joanna, because she injected our posse with renewed vigor and solidarity, don't you think? and i think david e lives up to mythical fairy-tale proportions.

'you can't make decisions based on how other people will react to them,' and 'just because you don't go out every night and can't stay to last call on a wednesday doesn't mean you're na old lady loser.'
