|| mental note delivery service ||

i just remembered that yesterday in that funny space just before falling asleep, afternoon nap edition, i got words in my head and made mental notes to look them up later.

this is interesting because:

1. in my almost-sleep state i was drafting said mental note to self in the most formal way. "do look into taking latin. ask owen if he remembers a thing from taking latin/has retained a most brilliant vocabulary due to latin. look up the following: root mend. possible words include amend, mend, mendicant. mendicant mendicant mendicant. look up mendicant."

2. i love making mental notes. i am very good at it, drafting them and stashing them away to discover at a later date (it involves visualizing the exact setting of when you are to receive the note. like: you will look at the clock and it will say three and you will remember this. or: you will wake up and brush your teeth and look in the mirror and remember this. really! it works!) i just realized my mental note love/mastery revolves around the fact that i like to pretend i am writing notes to my future self, dropping my note at some time-continuum post office, and when it's delivered it's all dusty and weathered and beaten a bit from its trip to THE FUTURE. time travel! so possible! and wrapped up in ghostiness in a way. it hurts my head to think of it.

and mendicant. it's a beggar. thank you, mrs. bumatay, beloved high school english teacher.
