|| office friend from the netherworld ||

i have witnessed ghostly occurrence for the past two days in my office. preliminary tests show both occasions were not tricks of the light or reflections, although i have spotted the specter while standing in the same spot both times.

ghost log: supplemental

scenario 1, tuesday, 3 october: i am walking up the stairs back to my office. i turn the corner at the banister and see a shadowy figure, most likely male, tall and with short hair, walk through the doorway to my office. it takes a few steps to realize no one actually walked in. heart palpatations ensue. RB takes my sighting seriously, and we spend the next five minutes recounting other possible supernatural activity. i go back to my office to sit down and calmly ask the shadowy man to make his presence known, as it's only common courtesy. he is apparently not a courteous ghost man.

scenario 2, wednesday, 4 october: i am again walking up the stairs back to my office. i turn the corner again, not at all thinking about supernatural things, and i see a figure slink into my office, all hunched over and tip-toeing in that dramatic cartoony way. i think it's a co-worker sneaking into my office and expect for him to be hiding behind the door, but there is no one in the room. i immediately report the incident to my superior.

i have been sitting here trying to detect any presences but am sadly remiss. i intermittently take pictures of the office with my computer's webcam but don't come up with orbs or phantom faces. there was discussion of bringing in a ouija board, but a) i remember hearing they are detrimental to ghost souls and b) such activity is most likely frowned upon between the work hours of 8 and 5. further research and observation are required.

although i am fairly certain the two incidents are ghosty in nature i am not freaked out. i worry it is the son of the lady who was in the office beside mine and incidentally is no longer with the company. she didn't leave a forwarding address, so how am i to send him home? or it's someone i know who just wants to sit in the chair across from me and listen to andrew bird on repeat and maybe scrawl some gravely important message in red pen on a post-it note. maybe i need spiritual guidance.
