2000-12-25 || seven.twenty-seven.pm || disneyland 1995 || 1995: john, rob and i set up a save captain eo booth in the tomorrowland terrace. we had a zine and stickers i think..trying to spread propaganda of our favorite movie ever after hours of preparation at the chuck e. cheese in costa mesa. i had a pirated copy of captain eo i made with lavender captain eo 3d glasses taped over the lens of my video camera. the tradition was to go to captain eo first thing after getting into disneyland. we knew it by heart and would stand in the very back of the theater to try out the dance moves. we went to disneyland at least three times a week, often enough to notice when the flowers changed in the flower beds. maynard worked at the haunted mansion, sometimes at the tiki room. we all had his autograph. there was a regular crowd at the tomorrowland terrace. we all danced to the most awful songs the band would hash out: the tootsie roll song..ymca..the runaways song. mobs of straight edge kids and orange county kids with kool-aid hair.. we were all together, clogging up the lines, chanting the words to every song on the rides, loitering at the matterhorn, threatening to take over the monorail. guestbook || notes || archives || profile || photos || d-land |
