|| work lady karaoke ||

on friday the work ladies are having. another. holiday party. this is the fourth holiday party the work ladies have hadin a three week period. friday will be the grand finale, complete with gift giving and champagne and a 'holiday fiesta' themed potluck. norma is bringing in the karaoke machine. norma, kay and i have tentative plans to do a supremes number ('we can practice our moves in the basement!').

the burning question of the work ladies today was 'how does wind beneath my wings go?'. i found a website that has not only the lyrics but cheesy ass sounding back-up music. internet karaoke. a good five work ladies gathered around my cubicle and marilou, karaoke maven, sang the entire song. it is a very long song. she couldn't quite synch up with the music a couple times, but recovered gracefully. it caused a sensation. all the work ladies asked me to send them the link to the website. throughout the office i could hear people singing in their cubicles. beverly was singing 'i won't last a day without you' and chanel was singing 'betcha by golly wow.' kay and i sang 'stuck on you' by lionel richie. we got booed but all the work ladies are just jealous of our soul and spirit fingers.
