|| thursday thursday thursday! ||

last night: sushi deli with kelly. sitting at tables stuck very close together, populated with hipsters, leaning over to make silly comments, offering the dreamiest boy a piece of our shauna roll. this is how restaurants should be, man. this is how people should be. friendly and silly and red faced with sake. mmhmm. kell got hit on by the guy on the other side of us (guy, who at first seemed kind of cute, in a lone sushi eating way: '..you're a coffee shop girl? i have a fantasy about a coffee shop girl.' us, exchanging glances: 'eewwwww.') and we ran outta there before he could fulfill any sort of fantastical hijinx. laughing and running down broadway, driving up and down hills downtown. we stopped at gelato and filled up on ice cream and tea and gossip. we sat outside with matt and kelly said hello to every person that walked by. jeez. we drove back to kelly's and i worked on the book for mum and dad (the book with the incriminating polaroids? entitled 'what we do when you are away, from the amazing adventures of jenny and kelly.' 1: jumping on the bed. 2: drinking boone's under the christmas tree. 3: burning candles. 4: jenny cooking with hot grease (the joke is i can't cook and should not be allowed in the kitchen. ha bloody ha. 5. running with scissors. 6: indoor gymnastics (i'm doing a handstandy cartwheel perilously close to the television.) (so the hand sisters are very dorky, i am okay with this.) ) and rifled through kelly's drawers for good shirts/records/books to steal. i drove to michael's. we sat around and i tried to tell him his new haircut is okay (very short. very, emm. george clooney circa 1998.). with a little ruffling and pulling at the bangs it looks very nice, michael, it does. very george clooney circa 1998, ha ha. we drove to the beach and sat against a ridge in the sand to block out the cold cold wind. the moon was incredibly bright. it cast silvery fire on the wave crests and we couldn't tell whether it was just the moon or bioluminescence. noctilucence. diatoms and all that. we got up and stomped around on the very edge of water to see if it would glow. it didn't. we stomped any way. we told a lot of good secrets. we walked on jetties hand in hand. we explored mysterious mounds of vegetation and seaweed for dead things. we got back in the car and listened to figurine and drove back to his house.

and now m has embarked and disembarked his plane and is in portland, godwilling. i am on my way home later today. i still need to walk the dog and fill up the gas tank and load the dishwasher. m i'm sorry it all went so fast. i'm sorry that in your frontyard, sitting on the curb, it gets very hard to say goodbye. xoxoxox.
