|| tiny things. ||

very nice color: the purple that gets trapped under fingernails while reading a book on break in cold weather. very nice book title: girl with curious hair. very nice letter to write down: the lowercase g, with a lovely curving tail grazing just the top of a staid blue line on paper. very nice lunchtime activity: sprawling on sproul steps with ladyfriends, squinting under tepid sunlight, laughing loudly and slugging jacketed arms. very nice nighttime activity: embroidering molars and records and teacups onto fabric, singing along absently with records that will inevitably need to be turned over. very nice office window spectacle: the boxes of unloved records set outside to be grazed over by middle aged men and kids in adidas and scarves, sitting in clumps on cold sidewalk and pulling the records from sleeves for examination, for song titles. very nice sign: hal hoffman, realtor LA 7-2326 (it is the old phone number i love so much, still sailing just above people's heads, defiant). very nice expression, brought to you by grandma with the white hair: 'good night!' rather than 'holy shit!'. very nice catty phenomenon: meow meow being very needy in the mornings, demanding that i sit in the hallway and give her lovin on pain of snagged knee socks and merciless maulings. very nice time of day: 4:30, when the orange comes in through the window at dangerous angles. very nice things to look forward to: portland next weekend, snow and timberland lodge and my homedawgies seated at a fireplace; new yawk (it's going to happen, molly. it is. when it gets a bit warmer, hm?) and meeting someone on her lunch break to climb on alice in wonderland in the park, surprising luke at the plant bar, silly tourist stuff and stealing entire scenes from annie hall (m is practicing. m has the movie theater scene down i think.); playing guitar; skeezer, becky and my weezer cover band (just because i like the harmonizing so much.); springtime oh springtime.
