|| when movies cost six dollars ||

last night b and i were walking past a movie theater and the dreamiest eighteen-year old movie theater employee was standing outside with ill-fitting tie and converse and bleached hair and unabashed boyness. and it made me so sad to think i can't go back to that time that i almost had to sit down.

it's the uncertainty. not knowing any better. wearing your dad's tie with an old lady cardigan and pushing those old glasses to your nose to get out of eye contact. spinning on a rickety office chair in a small room and not once ever feeling the need to get hopelessly nostalgic.
