|| leaving the pen and ink nest ||

i would like very much to make a spectacular family tree of all the people i know and how we are interlinked. i was thinking of the 24th street house and how many people touched down there, however briefly (would link the various diaries and livejournals but not sure how they would all feel about the unexpected traffic).

branches and branches and tree houses and hollowed out woodsy parts perfect for tea parties and dancing.

once a few years back jason and i sat in a bar and drew an elaborate chart of all the people we knew and drew lines and elaborate symbols representing crushes and trysts and break-ups and foul weather. kisses and sharing rooms and mutual employers and bands and hang out spots.

a lot of the people held together with colored dotted lines and symbols have severed their ties, slinking off loose ends, and moved away. some are still around but the lines have faded. others are here but the lines have slackened and knotted and i have grown accustomed to stepping over the tangles and brushing the symbols out of view.

sad.
