for some reason i really love the idea of burning houses, but just the ones depicted in paintings and children's songs. not so much the real thing.

burning houses. charred wood and the melting faces of dolls. standing in tall grass watching objects evaporate. scorch marks and the outlines of states, primary colors translating emotion, old men with broad hands and moustaches that curl up at the ends with wax.
