kelly and i have been embroidering our hearts out for our respective sweethearts and the cats are sitting around like statues and there are board games out and letter cubes scattered on the carpet like forgotten baby teeth. we had biscuits and jessica's gravy(brian butter bandit's take on it here) and kelly's ghetto oreo pie for dinner, eaten while we sat on the couch and floor of the living room, and the heater was on and the rain hit the windows at times like small coins or bird bones.

i didn't get around to returning phone calls or working on the ol' MFA applications because it is easy to wave these sorts of things away when it's december and cold out and there are kitchen antics while simultaneously chopping onions and measuring things in plastic cups.

hey true, i have been thinking quite a lot about you. you are terribly fascinating and i kind of feel like it's the wizard of oz if you don't mind my saying, except that i can't remember what happens to the wizard (i am hoping it's something brilliant).
