|| seven minutes in heaven with j.f. ||

during the world's longest game of spin the bottle we were bound to end up waiting out seven minutes in heaven in your closet. we closed the door and found a book from your childhood. there was the smell of your clothes and the way you fold you shirts and the funny feeling of standing especially close to someone in the dark when there is the expectation of kissing. by minute three we escaped through the backdoor into the hallway and i think we might have sat there, under the light, flipping the pages your mother must have flipped while reading to you when you were young.

i like to remember our going through the closet and back to spin the bottle like this: we open the door, and our friends clap, and we are holding hands.
