|| how much does it cost canadian to send a year to the states? ||

a guy named brad in ottawa has my diary. he said he would mail it back a month ago, and i promised an outstanding care package and reimbursement for his trouble, but it hasn't shown up in my mailbox. i try to think of what's in it:

- secret thoughts from a tour to australia and new zealand
- secret thoughts about getting married
- secret thoughts about my mother's illness
- twelve photo booth pictures of michael and i over the last ten years
- part of the sign owen made for the getaway car at our wedding
- things to remember about going to canada (sade or the highway, waiting for brodot, tim horton's, how am i supposed to look like angela lansbury rounding corners on my bike with a helmet on)
- leslie and pablo's address to send portland coffee for letting us stay with them
- pictures i drew of michael in bars
- pictures i drew of the cats, if there were to be an epic painting of laverne and nadju and the ghost of meow meow hovering above them

i try to remember what's in there and what brad must think of me, if he's read through it. if it's sitting on a table somewhere in his apartment or it's still at the bar, the bartenders taking turns reading it on their breaks. i really don't mind who reads it. i just would like to get my year back.
